"SMAPIT understood our product like an internal team. The animation made our appliance feel premium and launch-ready."
The product is built into the environment, not carried to one. Sets that would need a location, crew and permits become a scene you can restage in minutes.

The cgi product photography questions we get.
Real cost, timeline and process questions from brand teams shortlisting SMAPIT for cgi product photography. Answered with the numbers and workflow we actually deliver against.
- 01
What is CGI product photography and when should a brand use it?
CGI product photography uses a 3D model of the product to generate photo-real images without physical shoots, studios, samples or crews. The 3D master is built once, then every angle, colourway, background and scene renders from that file. Use CGI when you have a full range of SKUs, colour variants, seasonal refreshes, or the product is not manufactured yet. Skip it for one-off hero shots of on-market products with no follow-up campaigns.
- 02
How much does CGI product photography cost per image in India?
Once the 3D model exists, CGI hero images run $60 to $250 per image at SMAPIT, versus $500 to $2,000 per image for a traditional shoot. The model itself is a one-time $200 to $800 cost for hard-surface products. Payback sits around 20 SKUs or the first colour-variant refresh. Every subsequent listing image, PDP frame or ad hero renders from the same 3D master at a fraction of a re-shoot cost.
- 03
How long does a CGI product shoot take vs. a physical shoot?
A full CGI listing pack for 20 SKUs delivers in 2 to 3 weeks; the same shoot physically takes 4 to 6 weeks including sample logistics. CGI removes the sample-shipping window entirely: no couriers, no customs, no shot-list rebook when the sample arrives damaged. Once the 3D master exists, new colourways and campaign refreshes render in hours. Physical shoots pay a re-book cost for every variant.
- 04
Can you deliver CGI images before the product is manufactured?
Yes, and this is often the strongest reason to build in CGI first. From CAD, engineering drawings or design mockups, we build a true-to-life 3D master and generate launch-ready listing images, PDP hero shots and paid ad hero frames before the first unit is manufactured. That means launch marketing is ready the day inventory lands, not 3 weeks after.
- 05
How does SMAPIT's CGI process work end-to-end?
Brief, then CGI hero render, then variant set, then delivery. Two to four weeks total. Step 1 is a 30-minute brief call plus reference gathering. Step 2 is the 3D master model (5 to 10 days). Step 3 is the hero render pass (2 to 4 days) with materials, lighting and camera locked. Step 4 is variant generation, including colourways, backgrounds and channel-sized cuts. Step 5 is delivery, with source files handed over to you at the end.

Questions, answered.
The things brands ask before the first brief. Anything else, just email us.
No, not required. CAD, dielines, spec drawings or reference photos work as starting points. A physical sample helps for unusual finishes (metallic flake, translucent glass, iridescent) but is not a blocker.
